The Challenge

The biggest challenge was discovering a way to become our user. Finance is a nebulous and complex world. The most crucial factor to understanding this world was to have the right conversations with the right people, and to do our homework.

The Approach

We took a three-pronged approach. The first step to solving the problem, of course, was to understand the problem. After countless conversations and interviews with individuals from many different departments, we drafted a series of concepts to accomodate their user needs.

“It needs to be simple.. yet robust enough to accommodate both buyers and suppliers”

What we learned
The Supplier

There are two main groups: Buyers and Suppliers. Suppliers are entities that seek to provide products and/or services for suppliers within the internal marketplace.

The Buyer

Conversely, buyers seek to make purchases of products and/or assets within the internal marketplace.

The Finance Manager

Apollo is meant to assist financial experts in managing the PO numbers and assets for both buyers and suppliers. The application is meant to give them clear, concise and streamlined data about the financial details of each.

There are three crucial facets that the Apollo application needed to embody:

  1. Fast Access to thorough data
  2. The ability to accomodate both buyer and supplier profiles
  3. Report generation

The impact

Finance Managers were able to execute their tasks which solidified the success of this multi-million dollar effort.
